Order parts once you measure them
Properly measuring garage door parts before ordering new ones is of the essence. Apart of the fact that some components arrive in different materials, they all come in different sizes. The size matters and must match the door's needs, so if you require help, ask our technicians.
Replace both extension springs together
Garage door extension springs come in pairs of two – one for each side of the door. They counterbalance the door which means they must both have the same power at each side in order to move the door evenly. This is achieved by replacing both of them together.
Deal with a reversing overhead door
If you have a problem closing down the overhead garage door, see if there are obstructions on the floor. If it keeps reversing after you have cleaned and checked the floor, keep pressing the wall button. If it closes, there's a problem with the reverse mechanism.
Have your door inspected in case of an accident
It’s not completely unavoidable to accidentally back your car into the garage door. Even if the door’s panel or frame look okay, consider having a garage door maintenance inspection to make sure that everything still works, especially the safety reverse system. There might also be defects that can overburden the door opener and make it inefficient.
