What is the average lifespan of a garage door?
Between five to ten years depending on the make of the door. On an average, a garage door is opened and closed over a 1000 times per year. Based on this statistic, if you maintain your property well, it should run smoothly for around ten years. You may have to do some minor changes and replacements as time passes, but a complete replacement will only be necessary after a “decade or so,” giving great value to your money.
Why do tracks need more cleaning than other parts?
Garage door tracks collect much dust and dirt. Elements might hide in the rails since there is enough space. With such obstructions the rollers won't move properly. The movement of the door will be noisy and the rollers might jam or pop off.
What do I do when the door doesn't open?
There is usually more than one solution to one problem. If the door doesn't open but the opener hums, our technicians suggest checking if the door is locked or blocked. The door wouldn't open if the springs or the cables are broken.
